Wednesday, July 02, 2014 10:00 PM
It is July already and I am wondering where this year is going. Soon the kids will be headed back to school.
If you remember last month I mentioned that if you have a VA ID card that you should be on the lookout for a new modern card in the mail. Well I just received mine in the mail so be on the lookout for yours. It is suppose to be a better secure card. Just remember that if you have a card now you should receive a new one.
The Indiana Dept. of Veteran Affairs has revised the Military Family Relief Fund so if you served Post 9-1-1 (Iraq or Afghanistan). If you are an honorable discharged veteran and are in financial hardship this could help. The funds are intended to be used for Food-Housing-Utilities-Transportation-Medical expenses. You will be required to fill out three forms, MFRF application, Indiana Direct Deposit form and a W-9 form. All three forms must be sent into the Indiana Department of Veteran Affairs in Indianapolis. You can come and see me for the forms if you choose. You may also go on line and Google Military Family Relief Fund-Indiana. I will also assist you in filling them out if you need me.
Our Honor Flights for this fall are almost full. The Sept 29 flight is full and the October flight has just 15 spots at this writing. We are planning more flights for 2015.
As always give me a call if you need help with a VA question.
