The Crawfordsville Lady Athenian soccer team has looked good so far this season. They put that on display in front of their home fans for the first time Monday night and picked up a 2-0 win over potential sectional foe Greencastle.

Play was suspended with 13 minutes remaining because of weather.

Hannah Whicker scored both Athenian goals to bring her total to 11 through three games. She was assisted by Cali Saunders and Reilly Dunham.

Olivia Cody made six saves for the Athenians, who have not been scored on this season.

The Athenians (3-0) will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they travel to Frankfort on Tuesday. The Hot Dogs are also 3-0 on the year.

The North Montgomery girls soccer team had a home match scheduled with Danville on Thursday. The game was delayed and then postponed because of lightning. At the time of publication a new date had not been announced.
