DARLINGTON-Before Monday's storm hit, the North Montgomery girls' golf team got a round in at their home course, Rocky Ridge. Abbey Woodard shot a personal-best round of 39 to earn medalist position and lead the Chargers to a 184-200 win over Harrison.

Helping Woodard out were Kennedy Bonwell with a 43, Megan Douglas with a 46 and Kristen Glass with a 56.

"I was pleased with our team effort tonight. It was hot, but the girls battled and hit the ball very well," coach Mark Shadiow noted. "Our ball striking is what led to our low scores, as we generally struggled on the greens. Abbey's personal best score came at a great time for us. I knew she was on the verge of having a break through round, but has had some tough breaks in several of her rounds this season. Tonight she kept the ball in the fairway and was very accurate with her approach shots throughout her round. This win was a real confidence booster for us coming off the tough loss to Greencastle."

The Chargers move to 3-2 on the year and will return to action Thursday at Lafayette Central Catholic. Fountain Central will also join in on the fun.
