Crawfordsville native Luke Menard has moved on to the final 24 of this season's American Idol.
Menard is one of the 12 male finalists.
From the thousands of auditions from around the country, there were 164 finalists flown to a week of competition in Hollywood. The field was then trimmed to 50 and Wednesday night that field was cut to the final 24. Up to this point of the competition the three judges had control as to who moved on. Beginning next week the American public will decide who will move on.
Menard, 27, is currently living in Bloomington, Ill., where he is a member of the a cappella singing group Chapter 6.
Contestants and their families are not allowed to comment on the show.
